Consultant Spinal Surgeon

Mr Pavlos Panteliadis is a Consultant Spinal Surgeon at Guy’s and St. Thomas Hospitals. Mr Panteliadis’ practice consists of complex spinal surgery and covers the whole spectrum of adult spinal pathologies, including degenerative conditions, spinal tumours, infections, complex trauma, and deformity. He has both orthopaedic and neurosurgical training, which allows him to have an exceptional understanding of spinal pathologies and their management.

He has a very patient centred approach to treatment and management; incorporating the most up to date surgical techniques like minimally invasive spinal surgery, with excellent pre and post operation patient advice and education, to achieve enhanced recovery and outstanding outcomes for his patients.

Mr Panteliadis trained as a Trauma and Orthopaedic surgeon and subsequently sub-specialised in Spinal Surgery. He completed the mixed orthopaedic and neurosurgical fellowship between Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. He has also completed the spinal fellowships at Oxford university Hospital and Salford Royal NHS Foundation trust.

He acquired further experience in the management of adult spinal deformity by attending the Spinal Department at the Hospital for Special Surgery, in New York, United States. He also gained a Master of Science at University College London in Sports & Exercise Medicine during his training.

Before his appointment as a Consultant Spinal Surgeon at Guy’s and St. Thomas Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, he worked in Brighton and Sussex University Hospital as a Consultant Spinal Surgeon for 6 months.
